2018 Leadership Class – “Women Elevating Women: Landlord – Tenant Issues.”

The 2018 Leadership Class is hosting a one-day community event with the mission of educating women in the Dallas community of their legal rights about landlord/tenant issues. At the event, there will be an educational seminar with panelists from the Texas Tenants’ Union, a resource fair, and attorneys available for additional one-on-one legal discussions.

This event will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Martin Luther King Center, in Building A, located at 2922 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., Dallas, TX 75215.

The class is looking for sponsors for the event! By making a monetary contribution to this event, you will help advance our mission of educating women in low-income communities and help to elevate women as they work to become independent members in society. Below are our sponsorship levels for contribution to this community event:

Sponsorship Levels include:

  1. Penthouse level: $200.00+

  2. Townhome level: $150.00

The 2018 DWLA Leadership Class is looking for attorneys who can dedicate an hour of their time to volunteer for one-on-one discussions for their one-day service event entitled “Women Elevating Women: Landlord/Tenant Issues”.  Volunteer attorneys will only need to attend for a one-hour “shift” between 12:30PM and 1:30PM. Experience in landlord-tenant issues is helpful, but not necessary. We will provide resources regarding the common legal issues these women are facing.
