Sometimes, in order to affect change, being bold is the only answer. This is especially true in cases of historically stagnant social issues, such as civil rights and gender parity. However, I think it’s important for us to remember that being bold is not enough. In order to be bold and be heard, you need the support of people affected and unaffected by the issue, and you need to be right.
This is why I love Dallas Women Lawyers Association. DWLA has drawn the support necessary to be heard, and we have drawn this support by educating our supporters on the facts and disparate treatment of women in our profession.
