Committees

DWLA offers a variety of programs and social activities to the legal community and professional women. Whether it is a CLE, networking event, or a social media campaign to create awareness, we are able to provide opportunities for personal growth and professional development.

Receptions

The Receptions Committee oversees the planning, sponsorship, marketing, and award nominations for DWLA’s annual Awards Gala and Reception, which honors trailblazers in the legal community by recognizing outstanding women in the legal profession.

Law School

The Law School Committee empowers women law students by providing them with essential professional skills to thrive in their legal careers. This initiative aims to equip future women leaders in law with the tools they need for long-term success.

Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee plans programs designed to empower women attorneys with the essential tools and strategies needed to excel professionally. Programs like the award-winning, The Pitch, and recently-launched programs, ElevateHER and Money Talks, provide meaningful business development training and skill-enhancing opportunities to help women achieve and understand the value of their professional success.

Service (ASC)

In support of the mission of Attorneys Serving the Community (ASC), the DWLA membership seeks to make a meaningful impact through collective action and community engagement to help strengthen the legal community through service.

CLE/Programming

The CLE/Programming Committee plans Continuing Legal Education programming throughout the year. Presented by industry leaders, the judiciary, and government officials, these CLE-accredited programs cover a range of engaging topics that educate, inform, and enrich the lives of our members. Additionally, the committee collaborates with our sister bar organizations to allow members more opportunities to connect and inspire.

Mentoring

The Mentoring Committee fosters women’s integration and advancement in the legal community through guidance and fellowship. Its flagship program, Women’s Mentoring Circles (WMC), connects seasoned and new women lawyers to empower career navigation, relationship building, and professional success.

Membership

The Membership Committee is dedicated to growing our dynamic community of women attorneys in DWLA. The Membership Committee tracks membership, helps showcase the value of DWLA for members, and sponsors several membership drive events throughout the year.

The Member Engagement Committee seeks to foster meaningful connections and active participation among women attorneys within the organization to enhance their careers while creating community committed to advancing women in the legal profession and fellowship opportunities through fun and engaging social activities exclusively for members.
