Community Outreach – Winter Storm
February 26 @ 8:00 am - March 31 @ 5:00 pm
Helping our community
We hope that you and your families are doing well. Our thoughts are with our friends and neighbors across North Texas and the entire state of Texas who are dealing with the effects of an unprecedented winter storm. We are especially thinking of our non-profit organizations who serve the most vulnerable in our communities, including women and children escaping violence and abuse. Many of these organizations have sustained damage from burst water pipes, forcing them to close their doors to those in need.
The Family Place empowers victims of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling and skills that create independence. They had to relocate its entire domestic violence shelter to a secure location. They are in need of support to help repair the shelter and ensure services are not interruption.
Mosaic House is dedicated to serving survivors of human rights abuses from around the world and within our community. It’s suffered significant damage to its childcare center, multipurpose room, staff offices, and kitchen. Now they are working to have someone come to the shelter to fix a potential natural gas leak. Residents are currently having to stay at hotels.
Please consider donating directly to these non-profits by visiting their websites: https://www.familyplace.org/donation/donate and https://mosaicservices.org/donate/. Thank you for your consideration. DWLA Outreach is needed now more than ever, and we know the amazing impact we can have together.
Note – if you donate or contribute in some way, please email us (email@example.com) so we can track participation and our give back to the community.
