Parkland Health & Hospital System is seeking a self-motivated, experienced healthcare operations and regulatory compliance attorney with a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a practicing attorney. The Senior Associate Attorney candidate will have a track record of working effectively with a client-service focus in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be inspired by Parkland’s Mission: Dedicated to the health and well-being of individuals and communities entrusted to our care.

The Senior Associate Attorney candidate should have had meaningful client contact with hospitals, health systems, physician practices, academic medical centers or other healthcare industry clients with experience advising on operations, regulatory and compliance issues, as well as supporting regulatory compliance investigations, policy and procedure development and review, and licensure and accreditation matters. Demonstrable/working knowledge of (or willingness to learn) a variety of healthcare regulatory subject matter areas including anti-kickback, Stark, and other fraud and abuse laws, EMTALA, HIPAA, cybersecurity and state privacy and security law, bioethics, patient consent, Medicare/Medicaid program requirements, conditions of participation, accreditation standards, government program reimbursement, and other regulatory and licensure requirements applicable to hospital or healthcare entity operations. Knowledge of healthcare contracting, federal and state grant programs, and transactional matters a plus.

The Senior Associate Attorney candidate must possess excellent problem-solving skills, good judgment, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including inside and outside legal counsel. Must be extremely responsive to a high volume of requests, be adaptable, resourceful, and detail oriented, and be able to develop and maintain relationships with business leadership to bring matters to closure. Prior law firm experience strongly preferred, but not required. This position reports to Deputy General Counsel and is expected to integrate into a diverse, fast-paced legal team environment.
