Personal and Professional
Development Opportunities

DWLA offers a variety of programs and social activities to the legal community and professional women. Whether it is a CLE, networking event, or a social media campaign to create awareness, we are able to provide opportunities for personal growth and professional development.

Bar Study Scholarship

DWLA provides scholarships to women (and men) who have demonstrated a commitment to scholastic achievement while furthering the DWLA mission to elevate the standing of women in the legal profession.

CLE’s

Presented by industry leaders, the judiciary, and government officials. They provide engaging topics to educate, inform, and enrich their lives of our members and the community.

Leadership Class

DWLA’s Leadership Class is a DWLA initiative created to further its mission of elevating the standing of women in the legal profession. The leadership class will benefit women law students by providing students with the tools to develop the professional skills necessary for success and leadership positions in law, business, government, the nonprofit sector, and the judiciary.

Mentoring Circles

A joint partnership program between the Dallas Women Lawyers Association (DWLA) and The Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL). The program seeks to facilitate a connection between established female members of the Dallas Bar and their younger colleagues through mentorship. The goal is to integrate the women of the Dallas legal community through teaching and fellowship, centering on the retention, development, and advancement of female lawyers.

Social Events

In addition to member-only social networking events, we provide joint programming with sister bar organizations that allow members to connect and inspire.

Special Events

DWLA partners with the various sister bars, the DBA, and outside organizations to provide educational programming for its members and the community.

Annual Awards Reception

This annual event honors trailblazers in the legal community by recognizing outstanding female partners, outstanding female corporate counsel, and outstanding up-and-coming young female lawyers.
