Kiddo in Tow: The Reality of Law & Parenthood
We’ll explore the topic of parenthood and learn and reflect on how lawyers and employers can support working parents and looking at themes like:
- What are the laws that can help working parents?
- Statistics on the mental health of working parents,
- The load women face, specifically, and
- The horrifying truths about the lack of parental leave in the US
This CLE will cover legal education updates on the law including – What are the laws that can help working parents? What laws support pregnant people and people who are navigating family planning? What benefits are being provided by employers beyond what is required by law.Ā What particular challenges do working parents face in the workplace, and particularly mothers? This CLE covers: State laws providing family sick leave, parental leave, and leave to care for infants, as well as FMLA, the Pump Act, Pregnancy discrimination laws, and aspects of the ADA.Ā It also covers how lawyers can support one another in the legal community.
