Letter from the President

Stephanie M. Almeter

Fabulous Women of DWLA,

Let me begin by saying, it is an absolute honor to be your 2024 DWLA President. When first approached about this opportunity, I was shocked to even be considered and floored by the gravity of the honor. As I thought about the opportunity, I found myself internally repeating the last line of one of my favorite poems:

Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?
Oliver, Mary, “The Summer Day”

My involvement with DWLA has been the single most meaningful and impactful investment I have made for both my personal and professional development. In stepping up to the helm now, it is with a deep appreciation for the course laid by those amazing, talented women who precede me, and recognition that there is still work to be done.

The past several years has seen DWLA soar to new heights, receiving both state and national level recognition for its innovative programming and ability to “move the needle” for women in the legal community. As we embark on this journey together, I encourage you to:

Be bold  Take advantage of the power that our DWLA network affords. Participate, show-up, and engage in the professional development and networking opportunities DWLA affords.

Exude joy – Grow, connect, and shine with your fellow, like-minded women leaders. It is my sincere hope that each of you will utilize all that DWLA has to offer to build your brand, hone your talents, and be a part of fostering our DWLA community as we work together to elevate the standing of women in the legal profession.

Best,

Stephanie M. Almeter
2024 DWLA President
